Goodbye 2010... Hello 2011!

Happy New Year everyone! I was reminiscing over this past year and I realized that it has been quite and adventurous year for us! I am excited to see what God has in store for us in 2011!

The Adventures of the Eveland's in 2010:

~Learning how to be parents

~Emma's first year of life

~Getting everything packed and situated before we left Georgia

~Flying on a plane with an infant... she did well, I was the one who was stressed out!

~Matt and his dad driving across country in a VW Golf, with a dog, and a trunk full of stuff in less than 2 days.

~Spending a month with family in California... so hard to say goodbye! Thanks for the memories!

~Going to the Padres opening day game. They beat the Braves 17-5!!

~Moving to Belgium

~Getting used to the time difference

~Trying to learn Dutch... "Mijn Nederlands is niet goed."

~Trying new food... kebabs, brat worst, smos special, and of course Belgian waffles and chocolates!

~Trying to see Pairs in half of a day... not recommended!

Merry Christmas from the Eveland's

We hope everyone had a nice Christmas. We didn't do much, but it was nice to be together. Our neighbors invited us over on Christmas Eve to have dinner with their family. Christmas morning we made Aebelskivers (Danish pancake balls) and bacon. Emma had her first Aebelskiver and she enjoyed it! Then we watched the movie A Christmas Story and had dinner after that. Later on, we skpyed with my family. It was nice to see everyone... just wish we could have been there in person!

Brussels Christmas Market

We went to the Christmas market in Brussels last week. It was very cold, so we didn't stay there that long, but it was fun looking around at the little shops.

More Winter Fun...

Welcome Brendan Jason Thomas McCandless!

Brendan was born Friday, December 17th at 7:20pm. He weighed 8lbs and 4oz. Mom and baby are both doing well! Congrats Christy and Deron! Wish I could be there to meet the little guy!

Winter is Here!

A few weeks ago we had a little winter wonderland in our backyard. It was so peaceful watching the snow fall while sipping a cup of coffee. Casey loved running around in the snow! Sometimes she would lay out there for a while just enjoying it. Emma didn't think too much of it because she doesn't know what it is yet. Unfortunately, our little winter wonderland is gone now because the rain washed it all away. :( Hopefully it will snow again so we can have a white Christmas!

Emma's 1st Birthday!

We celebrated Emma's 1st Birthday this last Friday. Earlier that day we went to a Christmas market in Aachen, Germany and when we got back we celebrated her birthday. We Skyped with my sister and her family, then she opened her presents and ate her cake. Emma did a good job at opening her presents and she enjoyed all her gifts. She loved eating her cake! She took her time eating and did not get very messy. I was hoping she would have gotten messier but she didn't want to. ;) Happy Birthday Emma...we love you!!
