Seasons Greetings from the Eveland's

We hope everyone had a great Christmas! Matt and I finally were able to be together for Christmas this year after being separated for the last two. We didn't do too much because Emma is still so young, but it was enjoyable being altogether. We opened our presents at midnight on Christmas Eve because we were still up with Emma. On Christmas morning I made Aeblekivers (Danish pancake balls) for breakfast. They weren't as tasty as my mom's though. That afternoon we visited with my family and Matt's family on the webcam. It almost felt like we were really there in CA with them. For dinner we went to a friends house and had dinner with their family. God has truly blessed us this year and we are excited to see what he has in store for us in this next coming year!

Welcome Emma Ann Eveland!!

We welcomed our baby girl into the world on December 3, 2009 at 7:43am. She weighed 9lbs 4 oz. Everything went very smoothly and she is a healthy little baby. We were able to go home on the 5th, making our stay at the hospital very short. :) I just wanted to say a BIG thank you for all your prayers for us through out this whole pregnancy and delivery. God has had his hand on us the entire time and I cannot thank him enough for all the blessings he has given us.

39 Weeks

Well, the journey is almost over now. We will finally get to meet Baby Eveland on December 3rd, unless it decides to come within the next couple of days. I have a c-section scheduled for December 3rd at 12:45pm. The doctor decided on a c-section because the baby is too large for me to push out. Last time they measured the baby, which was 2 weeks ago, it weighed 8lbs 12oz and the size of the head and the abdomen was in the 97 percentile for the baby's gestational age. Keep us in your prayers because I am a little nervous about the procedure, but I am so excited to finally meet the baby. I will try to post pictures asap. Thanks for all your prayers!!

36 Weeks

I went in for my 36 weeks check up the other day and everything looks great. They did another ultrasound to check the weight of the baby. The baby is weighing in at 8lbs!! In 2 weeks they are going to do another ultrasound to check the weight of the baby again and we'll see where we go from there. Keep us in your prayers!

32 Week Check Up and Baby Shower with Co-Workers

On Monday I had my 32 week ultrasound to see how much Baby E weighs. The baby is weighing in at 5lbs already and I'm not due until December. The nurse measured the baby twice to make sure she was measuring correctly. We all were surprised by the weight of the baby. The doctor said if I go full term, the baby could weigh 9lbs. I go back on the 26th for a regular check up and then a week after that my doctor wants to do another ultrasound to see if the baby is continuing to gain weight. She wants me to watch my carb and sodium intake... so what am I supposed to eat then?! :) She said everything else looks good. Oh, and they gave me a few more pictures of Baby E, but the nurse typed the baby's gender on the photos, so I can't post them, sorry. I don't know why she did that, I wanted to show people because the pictures are of Baby E's face and profile. Oh well, I made sure to hide them from Matt and I told him not to look for them. :)

Also on Monday, some of my co-workers threw me a baby shower. We had a great time playing games, eating some yummy food, and opening presents. I got some cute outfits and baby necessities. Thank you guys!! :)

Walt Disney World Trip

Last week we went to Walt Disney Word with our friends Brian and Jessica and their son Aiden. We had been planning this trip since January when we found out that Disney was offering a military discount for service members and their families... it was too good to pass up! We visited all four parks while we were there. Most of these pictures were taken in the different countries that are represented in Epcot. We had a great time visiting the parks and spending time with our friends, the Kinney's, that we don't get to see very often.

30 Weeks

Sorry I have been slacking on putting up pictures of my belly. I kept forgetting to take a picture and the weeks flew by before I knew it. I am 30 weeks now and feeling pretty big. I really hope the fall weather kicks in down here soon because this hot and humid weather is driving me nuts! Baby E is moving all over the place and is especially active after I eat. I also just started feeling the baby hiccup... that is a funny feeling. :) My next appointment is on Oct 12th and they will be doing another ultrasound to check the baby's weight and to see if the baby's due date has changed at all.

My Baby Shower

My friend Arlene threw me a nice baby shower yesterday. We had a great time socializing, playing games, eating, and opening gifts. One of the games they played was to decorate a bib for Baby E. All of the bibs were so cute that it was hard to pick a winner. :) I received many nice gifts. Thank you guys so much!

Belgium?! What? Where is That?

We finally received orders to move!! We are moving to Belgium in May 2010. We are excited to move due to the fact that we have been in Georgia for almost 6 years now and we really would like to explore a new place. I am a little nervous about going overseas just for the fact that I have never left this country and I don't know what to expect over there. I am excited at the same time because of the travel opportunities that await us over there. There are so many places and things I have wanted to see in Europe and now I will finally get a chance to do that.

We won't be leaving until May, so we will still be here awhile. We plan on visiting our family and friends in California before we head out. Our home in Belgium will be open to anyone who wants to come and visit us. :) Hint, Hint... great vacation spot!

Updates...

I just wanted to give you guys a quick update on the prayer requests I had. David's recovery went very well and now he is getting back normal... just in time for school to start! Tessa's surgery went well... just praying that she will have a speedy and healthy recovery. Thank you all for your prayers!

My doctors appt. last week went well. The nurse had a hard time counting the heartbeats because the baby would not stay still. :) The baby has been very active this past week, so active that I can see my belly move up and down... really cool!

Prayer Request...

Please keep my new little niece Tessa in your prayers. She is only 2 weeks old and is in ICU because she is having problems with a vein that is too narrow to pump oxygen to her heart. She will need surgery but they do not know when. She has been transported to a hospital in L.A. where she will have the surgery.

25 Weeks

I'm 25 weeks along now and feeling Baby E kick a lot! Last night it felt like the baby was doing aerobics or something. It made me laugh thinking about what the baby could possibly be doing in there with all the movement that was going on. I go in next week for another appointment.

Welcome Tessa Rose Eveland!

Matt's brother Jay and his wife Paula, had their little baby girl on August 2nd. I believe she weighed 7lbs. Congrats to both of you and we can't wait to meet her someday!

22 Weeks

I had another ultrasound today because they wanted to make sure that my placenta had "migrated." Last time I went in the doctor said my placenta was low lying, which means it was down by my cervix. They did not seem to concerned at the time because they said the placenta will usually migrate away from the cervix on it's own. So, they did another ultrasound today to make sure that it moved and it did. I'm so thankful that it did move because it could cause problems in the third trimester. They said everything looked good and I got to see Baby E again, so that was a plus! :) They also gave me more pictures of the baby. The pictures are of the baby's face and the feet. It was so cool to see those little feet on the screen!

19 Weeks

I am 19 weeks along now and almost half way done! I could feel Baby E "kick" (or whatever he/she may be doing in there) for the first time last night. It feels like a little flutter, something I have definitely never felt before. Baby E was definitely more active today. It is fun to think about what is really going on in there. :)
